Memento Mori
Series of colour photographs
2019, AVA
The Memento Mori series of photographs, captured using long
exposure technique, deals with themes of transience and eternity, life and death, body and soul. A woman transforms into
a ghost and slowly fades away. The series was inspired by a
phenomenon called ‘astral projections’ that has been happening
to me a lot in the past few years. In that state one has another
body, shaped exactly the same as the physical one, that can
get out of the sleeping physique and float around. It is difficult
to explain, however, I tried to capture the moment of leaving
one’s body in this work, when dying, meditating or experiencing
an astral projection. The series of photographs was made as a
project at the Academy of Visual Arts, AVA and was exhibited at
the AVA 011 Exhibition in 2019.

Zanima jo tisto stanje med znanim in neznanim, zavednim in nezavednim, življenjem in smrtjo, stanje, ko se prek slike ‘objektivne’ realnosti začnejo izrisovati še neke druge možnosti, ki potekajo vzporedno. V svojem umetniškem izrazu se večinoma giblje znotraj medijev fotografije, videa, instalacije in performansa. Poezijo piše že od osnovne šole. Nekaj njene poezije je dostopne na portalu LUD literatura.
